The joke that everyone's first love in specialty coffee is an Ethiopia Natural reigns true, but these coffees started to taste similar to me- deep forest berries with jasmine florals that (to me!) create a drying mouthfeel; however, Gatta is something special. It presents similar to that flavor profile we all know and love about Ethiopian coffees, but with a fresh and surprising candied strawberry note. I could not pass this one up!

This is a single farm lot from Gatta Farm, situated among a natural forest. It serves as a farm as well as drying station with expertise in natural, honey and anaerobic natural processes. This lot is a "standard" natural where the cherries are floated to remove unripe cherries and immediately dried on raised African beds, resulting in clean coffee flavors rather than fermentation notes.
